Today we toured to Checkerboard in the Jewel Basin. Areas near ridge tops had significant wind affected snow and we observed isolated cracking. We dug a pit on a NE aspect at approximately 6300' feet. We found about 10" of unconsolidated snow from the last week above a thin rain crust. We did not get any propagation in our pit test.
