Shallowly buried layers of faceted snow are widespread and so are the variable crusts capping it.

More widespread weak setup at mid elevations, with thin m/f crust capping very loose faceted snow on slopes facing north half of compass. Snow is a bit more varied up high with wind, rime, and m/f crusts sandwiching layers of facets snow.

Nice powder riding. The snow was deeper down low and at mid elevations in Franklin Basin, with only 6 or 7 inches up higher in Steep Hollow.
