I headed out late in the day hoping to find some good sized slabs I could trigger. I walked from Big Mac to the north saddle of West Monitor and was unable to get anything to move along the way. The snow was very dense and loaded with quite a bit of grauple. I dug a pit in a nicely sheltered north facing area about 50 yards below the ridgeline where the snow was quite deep for the area. The weakest layer was still above the last rain event about 80 cm below the surface failing CT14/16 SC. On my way out about 5:15 the weather significanlty changed. Heavy grauple was falling which was large enough I had to cover any exposed skin.
