We observed 5 small (D1) avalanches on the approach and one larger (R3-D2) avalanche in Cave Bowl. 2-3 inches of new snow deposited on top of the debris piles indicate that the avalanches released sometime in the early evening on 12/2. The avalanche in Cave Bowl was about 15-20 inches deep and failed at the old/new snow interface. The avalanche propagated several hundred feet across the slope (see photo). Stability test results from a pit dug adjacent to the avalanche yielded an ECT P 14 at the old/new interface (see attached pit). Warm temps associated with the most recent snow pulse made for "upside down conditions".
