Quick report
Skied the knob NE aspect from the quarry. Wanted to see if the recent avalanche activity has been primarily storm/wind layer related or something more persistent is in play. Dug a pit ~120cms down to the stout rain crust (2700ft, NE aspect, 35 degrees, 8AM) Results: ECTP3@25cms, ECTN9@35cms. The pit location gets significant wind loading from our ESE patterns. The P3 was on a fresh wind slab and N3 appeared to be on yesterday’s storm snow. Snow was otherwise cohesive all the way to the big rain crust and seemed to be well bonded to the crust. Did not dig below it.
