More snow than forecast (~20-25cm) has fallen on the late Dec rain crust, and was continuing to snow lightly throughout the day. Initially isolated areas of slab formation, but around 1750m and above was very cohesive. Triggered 2-3 small (<0.5) slab avalanches which slid on the rain crust, and had to make very careful terrain choices to avoid triggering more. Slides were happening on S and SE aspects.
2 small slab avalanches, one in steep trees around 1590m and other on the uptrack (unsure exact elevation). Nobody caught in either and didn't propagate far.
