Parker Ridge

Given our observations (30+cm new snow on hard wind slab, cross loading on adjacent slopes, slab avalanches in the area), we opted to stay in the trees on mellow slopes. Snow depth was variable, from 5cm (estimate) higher up the ridge to 150+cm in pockets. In trees, snow depth averaged 60-110cm, ski penetration 30cm; boot penetration to crotch. Beautiful powder day.
