Pretty decent day in Bullmoose. Anything wind affected was scoured pretty hard, but the trees held great powder and fairly deep. The whole snowpack in Bullmoose is still quite shallow, max 120-150 cm and bare snow on open ridge tops. We also saw significant cornice development and wind loading on alpine leeward slopes, and we stayed away from all big features. The same two layers of concern were still active, in the trees at 1700 m elevation the new storm snow was about 20 cm and reacted in the low moderate range. The crust/facet layer was down about 45 cm and reacted in the low hard range, planar failure on facets. The storm snow seems to be bonding a little to the snowpack, but we definitely stayed away from any slopes that had wind so no idea how touchy wind slabs might still be.
