Quick Observation
Very touchy storm slab today over a buried persistent weak layer of facets down 50 cm. Sledding up the road every cut bank that we came near would fail and propagate far down the road. Only 15 cm deep but it was snowing a lot all day and getting deeper. The wind was blowing from the west too, carrying a lot of snow. We dug a pit on a northeast aspect in a wind loaded spot and had an extended column test propagate indicating instability on the facets 50 cm down. Stuck to flat terrain free from overhead hazard and had a great day.
