Skier-triggered slab while picking through steep rolls and pillows at the top of the Dome Headwall. Propagation was limited and the debris stopped on a 30 degree slope. Bed surface was considered a temperature crust with 1 finger stiffness, 20 cm thick, with faceted snow underneath. We easily decided to bootpack back up to the ridge and took the traditional Dome exit through the north-facing Gulley. Kicked off a few unsupported pillows on a similar interface at about 1600 m. Skiing on the Dome varied from excellent in consolidated snow with some localized wind crust.
