We travelled between 1450 m and 2050 m. Strong southwesterly winds were observed at ridge tops, transporting snow into lee features. A size 1.5 wind slab was triggered in one of the alpine start zones; the slab did not step down to deeper instabilities. Old debris from a large avalanche, estimated to have occurred during the late December storms, is still visible in the southernmost slide path.
Ski quality at treeline and below was excellent.
