Quick report

A few quick obs from an evening tour: Storm snow had been blown around by strong winds, and also had consolidated with warm temperatures. No obvious surface signs of instability. Skiing was poor on all but shaded aspects. I dug a quick pit down to the Dry January crust far climber's right of the normal skin track on a sheltered ENE aspect about 300 vertical feet below the top. The Dry January layer was comprised of two crusts and was buried about 50 cm deep. There was a thin crust about 25 cm down but it did not produce test results. The layer of concern was the Dry January crust, which had a thin grey stripe sitting on the crust. ECTP22.
