Miserable conditions on Rock Mt today. 0.5" breakable crust above 6" loose icy snow near the car. 2 - 3" hard ice crust on all aspects around 4000ft. No present skin track, uphill travel required ski crampons and sidehilling on steep hard ice; couldn't break through to set track. Didn't proceed past 4000ft due to risky uphill travel.
