Quick report
- Observed sluffing from the current snowstorm, and multiple small sluff avalanches on the NW side of Snoqualmie Mtn. They were not breaking on a bed surface, most were 6-9" deep and moved slowly. - 1-2ft of fresh snow total, - snow was mostly stable, no shooting cracks, collapsing, or other instability was observed
Avalanche
~5,300ft, Slot Couloir, small slab ~1ft deep on the NNE side (left side) of Slot couloir broke while skiing the Slot and 1 person was caught / carried ~500ft, and was not buried. - The slide broke and then turned into a large sluff avalanche, slowing down and stopping where the couloir exits onto the apron. - Slide occured at ~10am, 3.27.2024 - Sluffing occured in the couloir prior to and after the slide - 1 additional slab, 1ft deep and 30ft x 40ft broke and slid when exiting the NW side of Snoqualmie Mtn, gathering fresh snow and slowing down and stopping on a ~30° slope. ~11:30a/12p
