There was more new snow in Missoula this morning than the lower flanks of Little Jo. Maybe 2" of fluff on top of 5-6" of fluff from yesterday. Calm winds and light snow was falling most of the day. With the abundance of low elevation snow and good stability in the Bass area recently, we skied a new-to-us run that we had walked by countless times before, which leaves from the picnic tables at the Little Jo summer parking area, "Little Josie". We did ski some avalanche terrain getting into the gully, and then beep-bopped in and out of the gully as the forest dictated, we experienced no signs of instability, and had a blast skiing mellow pow through the old growth. We kept the day going and headed up to the bass crags, where we found more new snow, which got deeper as we gained elevation. We had some isolating collapsing climbing up, but had no other signs of instability. Winds were calm to light. We kept it mellow and milked the crag meadow powder.
