Quick report
- Cracking
- isolated
Got a late start but gunned it to hurricane hill. South aspects have a significant crust formed on them. South lines off of HH are very wind scoured and crustalicious. Skied Burn Bowl with a little fresh on top. Snow was soft but dense. Didnt take it below 4800 because time was low. Significant cornices and wind loading on northen aspects of HH. Observed wind slab failure that did not run out very far on the same upper steep north face of Burn Bowl and Central Bowl. Was snowing most of the day with strong winds near ridgeline. Tested (hopped on w skis) several convex rollovers on the way to HH with no collapsing or cracking on multiple aspects. Overall pretty stable on conservative terrain.
Avalanche
D1 Wind slab failure near convex rollover when dropping in to Burn Bowl. Did not propagate or run out far.
