Quick report
We were out for a hike to replace the battery and solar panel on Upper Soldier weather station. We had great boot-top snow hiking (for the most part) on a beauty of a day in the southern end of the forecast area.

Beautiful bluebird day with light N winds and temperatures warming to above freezing at 9500'
Snowpack
We found a trace to 30cm of snow during our hike. The deepest pockets were along the ridgelines and were due to recent wind drifting. These pockets often had small 4F+ wind slabs sitting on top of softer snow.
Snow on slopes in the sunshine were consolidating rapidly while the snow surface on shaded slopes stayed cold.
