Quick report
Winter conditions were still achievable on the snow surface on the E and N aspects in the morning. When we exited the field around 1PM, any aspect that did not have a significant slope angle or elevation had become wet and dense. The storm snow from the end of last week had begun to consolidate by then. Dry loose in the morning gave way to a much more cohesive slab as the heat of the day really began to ramp up. A few new wet loose point releases off steep rocks on N and E aspects were noted throughout the day. High-elevation terrain remained cooler due to SW winds.
Avalanche
A few storm slabs were noted from my travels Friday & Saturday. A few new wet loose by midday Sunday during a longer ridgeline tour. The new wet loose were primarily on East facing slopes that had not received a lot of solar input from Fri/Sat.
