Snowpack

We made observations on Incline Peak today.  We moved through terrain and dug a bunch of snowpits on different aspects and elevations.  We have been looking at East aspects recently and looking to see if any weakness continues to exist with old snow near the ground.  At lower elevations, around 8600', we did not find any issues with the basal facets being reactive and a mostly warm snowpack.  As we moved up in elevation, we found some unstable snowpack test results with more of a weak snowpack structure just above 9200' on an East aspect.  This weak snowpack structure continued to exist on northerly aspects with highly variable snow depths from location to location.  We will continue to monitor the snowpack structure as our next storm starts to look more promising.
