Quick report
Snow was very wet and heavy at our elevation (approximately 5400 feet). No obvious instability signs (we were also out of avalanche terrain). Warm and sunny all day, warming through the day. We traveled conservatively and avoided avalanche terrain. Avalanche was observed from a distance, but it was very warm and sunny on the aspect it ran.
Avalanche
While hiking to Mildred Point, we saw a large avalanche run the whole length and width of the Kautz icefall. It was difficult to assess where the crown was from that distance, but we suspect it was close to the top of the icefall.
