Quick report
Traveled up Alpental Valley mid morning, followed the correct in-track, thanks to the solo guy for the rebreak. Coverage has much improved since earlier in the week, however all holes that can be seen, and many that can't be, are more perilous. Snow flurries all morning with occasional sun, then afternoon sun came out strong. Wouldn't be surprised if some solars inherit a crust. Trail breaking up to the top of No Fog was hard fought for such little vert, some of the hardest in memory, perhaps harder than Friday. Skiing was better than Snoqualmie snow on Friday, a little easier to stay on top of, but still what some would consider too deep. Trail breaking difficulties, in combination with parking constraints, meant that there were no signs of human tracks towards Pineapple, or Snow Lake Divide. Lots of signs of sluffs and flutes on steep terrain, only crown seen was in the steep gully between Bryant and Hemlock. No other instabilities were witnessed, but we didn't really want to poke too aggressively anyways... Largest immediate hazards were definitely related to immersion and consequences of finding holes or even simply crashing, take care.
