Quick report
Great stability with shallow loose dry snow that wouldn't pose a problem in 90 percent of the terrain. Good soft snow on the surface in areas that are protected from direct sun and wind.
We did not see any instability and felt good about stepping out.Weather

Snowpack
The upper snowpack has surface hoar on the surface that ranges in size from 1mm broken from sun and wind to 6-7mm well preserved. The upper snowpack is a sandwich of crusts and facets, loose bonds with sugar snow in between---that will likely produce future avalanches with more snow in the distant future. We had a few failures (ECTN 21,24,26) in the upper 1-1.5' of the snowpack that lacked propagation below rain crusts on facets that show slight rounding.
