Yeehaw ! We rode our steeds to the Little Sand Cabin for some sled access ski touring today. Found a layer of preserved surface hoar buried mid-february down 50 cm on a north aspect at 1900m. It was unreactive in snowpack tests. The surface snow was getting moist on southerly aspects. Found some great turns for our descent on preserved powder on north facing slopes. Our steeds wanted to carry on, but the cowboys needed to head back down into the valley.
