Slalok approach

Skied Matier NW face in amazing conditions. Goal was to ski slalok on the way back to the car. Saw the previously skier triggered avalanche once we got to slalok shoulder. Hard crust about 20cm down. Easy results with hand shear. Decided to turn around and ski back as many other groups did earlier. Skied more to the left than the other ski lines. Skier triggered size 2 and got caught, dragged down ~50m. Airbag likely prevented burial. Skier was able get out on his own and ski down.
