Yesterday, we toured the south side of the pass and found 25cm of pow on top of 55cm of rightside up 1F-4F. The new snow was bonding well.
Today, in protected terrain, we found similar qualities. We felt good dropping into steeper terrain being cautious of some wind-deposit pillows just under the ridge, and the riding was quite good.
Ridges were wind-affected and quite bad (heard one loud wumph). Isolated pockets in trees were sun-baked and also bad. Lower elevation skiing included a fair amount of rocks and scraping...bad.
Still, fantastic conditions up high. Wonderful day out.
