Quick Observation
Avalanche Information
Skied around the bow area today hoping for better vis. We were on plan C to see where we could get to on St Nic. We skinned along the upper bench, already deciding we were not going to ski the steeper slopes, but travel as far as we could towards the summit. Hand shears showed moderate planer results of the 4F windslab 40cm deep on a 2cm crust, confirming our decision to not ski the slope. As we traveled out further along the 4 meter wide bench to investigate if the upper slopes had cleaned out, we had a deep whumph remote triggering the slope below at 40 meters away. Crown depth was 40-90cm for the windslab. We believe the whumph initiated the DPS, and released the windslab above it. No iinvolvement.
