Fraser Lake conditions.

Tough travel conditions. Heavily wind effected terrain. There was a lot of variety on the extent of wind effect on the snow pack, but always wind effect. Windslab was prominent in some areas and not in others. we experienced whoomphing and shooting cracks on east aspects but not on the northerly aspect. Generally the travel was hard work and not fun.

Sudden Planar failure on melt freeze crust (see picture). Very different results to the east aspect. See Steve Reid's report from the other side of the valley.
