Nicci is a bad girl

Great day in Balu. We (2x), along with another group of 5, skied Nicci’s Notch today. Honestly skied really well. The put-in is a bit thin & choppy but after that pretty solid coverage with a soft 5-10cm of faceted surface snow. No one has skied the steeper (left) entrance to Nicci’s yet (second photo). The SH continues to grow BTL and is prolific throughout the bottom of the valley. A cloud inversion was present for the entire time we were in the basin (10:00-14:00). Notable SH growth within the fog band (1700-1850m) from the last two days. A man that skied Ursus Minor, Video, 8812, Cheops, and a half lap up Balu shoulder all today passed us on the up-track while closing out his day. He didn’t report any signs of instabilities of note. Made respect and love to see someone making the most of the visibility this weekend. Still a few fresh tracks to be had in Christmas couloir. Hope this helps,
