Quick report
Dug snow pits on east and west aspects at 6280' elevation. Snowpack structure is generally right-side-up, with a few weak interfaces between layers. Column tests showed sudden collapse with moderate to hard results 37cm down, on a layer of decomposing, fragmented precipitation particles that included needles and broken stellars. There were no propagating results on the Christmas facet/crust combo that was reactive more than 10 days ago. No signs of instability.

Mostly sunny throughout the day. Temps in the mid-20s at mid-elevation. Winds were light. No precipitation.
Snowpack
Widespread Surface Hoar throughout the Southern Whitefish Range at mid-elevations. Stout crusts exist on southern aspects where the sun has baked the surface during the high-pressure system. Unsupportable crusts on northern aspects from the warm temps the week prior. Ski quality is non-existent, with sections of icy luge track from sustained ski traffic on the most popular skin-tracks.
