Stanton Peak, Glacier National Park

We skinned from Lake McDonald Lodge to Trout Lake TH , we hiked through scattered snow up to about 4800 ft , then were able to skin the rest of the way, skinned along the SW ridge up to 6400 ft , no new snow or signs of instability the snow pack was very stable! High winds and cloud coverage came in fast so we dropped the SE aspect, there we noticed two previous avalanches, point release and a possible D2 , our view of the crown was blocked. The ride down was very firm with only two enjoyable turns ! Rock on!!
