Quick report
- Cracking
- isolated
Noted some ability to kick off shallow drifts along the upper portion of the route on SE aspect of the ridge where light wind loading was occurring under a NW wind approximately 5-15mph. These were fresh drifts that fractured only a few inches deep, but did crack out in chunks, sliding just a few inches when a kicking force was applied along steeper edges. Poked on NW side of the ridge and snow was firm from wind. Descent down Broadway was a mix of dry and wet powder approximately 4-8” deep, with best/drier snow in shade. Clear ice coating on snow pack around some trees, mainly lower half of route.
