Silver Mountain Out of Bounds/Silver Hill

Warm weather and sun are starting to penetrate the snowpack from 6-10 cm down. On all aspects surface hoar was observed in varying degrees of decomposition. There were a couple highly spatially variable propagations observed between 30 and 60 cm down on buried surface hoar just above the rain zipper crust. Most failures were occurring in the upper 30 cm of the snowpack between storm slab layers. No skier affected instability was observed on slopes up to 35 degrees. Multiple weak layers observed with varying degrees of reactivity. The only aspect/elevation observed to have trigger, slide and propagation likelihood was on Eastern slopes at/above tree-line.

Sunny clear skies brought warmer temperatures.
Snowpack
Although the snow is healing, there are still weak interfaces above the most recent rain crust and between the upper storm slab layers. Snowpack shows diurnal temperature swings in the upper pack with as much as a 4.5C difference in the top 15-20 cm.
