Quick report
We dug two pits at 3200’ on a W-facing apron of Goat Mountain with intent of skiing a line from the ridge top. The snowpack was ~130cm deep, and yielded two ECTP14 results on an interface 20-35cm from the surface in our respective pits. A 4F+ soft slab existed above this interface, with weaker 4F decomposing particles acting as a weak layer. The rest of the snowpack consisted of right side up snow overlying ~20cm of basal facets capped by an ice crust. Later in the day, several people rode the slope without incident. Lots of people were stepping out around Glacier Gulch, and no avalanche activity occurred that we were aware of.
