Quick report

10 cm from the ground was weak facetted layer below the rain layer with more unconsolidated facetted snow at the ground. Facetted snow was not full sugar snow but appeared to be transitioning to a more stable layer from the rain event several days prior.

15-20 knots of wind with a cloud line just under 8000' before noon with clearing and calmer wind as the day progressed.

Snowpack

Dug a quick pit in a wind loaded NE facing aspect at 7700'. Found 60cm of one finger medium density new snow sitting on a rain soaked fist hard 35 cm layer.
