Quick report

Coverage is thin in the Crow Creek area and the snow on the ground is almost entirely weak facets. We didn't see any signs of recent avalanches, but that may change when we see another loading event.

Snowpack

There is only about 10-14" snow on the ground in the area. We ended up changing our objective for the day once we saw how thin the coverage was in the alpine.

The snowpack consists almost entirely of weak, faceted snow, with one thin crust buried about 4-6" off the ground. We got mixed test results failing above that thin crust (ECTN15, PST35/100 end) and expect that it will be a problematic setup with the next loading event. See additional snowpack info in the attached snowpit profile.
