Quick report
Higher levels of wind loading and cornice formation than two days prior at tumalo. While prodding the cornice with a ski to gauge cornice depth, a chunk (about 5ft wide) dislodged and triggered a wind slab avalanche. While there was previous cornice debris in the bowl, and visible ski tracks from earlier in the day or weekend, the wind slab avalanche that was triggered was the first evidence of such a slide we observed in the bowl. In the trees on the way up we only observed about 4 inches of fresh snow, but the crown looked like it was upwards of 6 inches

A chunk of cornice was intentionally pushed off with a ski and triggered what we estimate to be around a D1.5 avalanche. No skiers were caught and the avalanche and crown were only observed from above the slide so the crown height is a rough estimate.
