Quick report
- Cracking
- widespread
- Collapsing
- specific
Lots of obvious, bull’s-eye type red flags out there today. If you find yourself climbing ice in the next few days, think hard about the consequence of a small avalanche on a climb. I would encourage climbers to put in more gear than normal. I would expect the problem to get worse over the next 72 hours. Observed avalanches seemed to be recent as in last 12 hours. Cracking was widespread, with cracks going as far as 20 feet.
