Snowpack

- <p>In the area we traveled today we found a strong snowpack that had good structure and there were no signs of instability. Travel was mostly easterly aspects between 8k-10k ft. Dug a quick pit at 9500ft, east facing and found no layers of concern. The NSF that have been buried by the recent storm are very small and are well bonded to layers above and below. The basal facets are also small grained and well bonded. No sign of any larger depth hoar crystals that have been noted on northerly aspects. There was no snow being transported in the area that we were in or off of BCC/LCC ridge. Wind was fairly light and most windward aspects crusted.</p>
Southeast MF crust, east had a few inches on a crust and more northerly aspects 3" on top of NSF with no wind crusts noted.
