I could see a good-sized slab avalanche in the Picture Window from the highway as we passed through Wellsvilles. It may have been triggered by heat shock due to rapid warming yesterday or this morning, but the occurrence timing is unknown.
I took the photos on Wednesday morning, March 26... There were also a few new long-running natural avalanches; the third photo is of Mendon Peak from the east.
