Quick report
We observed expected pit results and no red flag signs of instability prior to our remote trigger event. We all were very surprised by the avalanche. This is very typical of the persistent slab problem we are dealing with right now. As well as the fact that the last member of our group triggered the avalanche. We observed an older crown further down in the gully that was from the previous natural avalanche cycle. Both avalanches failed on the 1/4 weak layer. Two pits dug on N facing terrain around 8500. ECTX on both. PST 50/100 performed only on one pit.

Descended 30 feet off the summit of 8724 and regrouped at top of a steep rollover. We decided to avoid the rollover by skiing dense lower angle trees skiers left. 7th rider down remote triggered the rollover causing a sizable amount of debris to pile up into the trees below. Rider stayed well skiers left of previous tracks near edge of rollover. Ran 150-300ft in the trees below.
