Cool, breezy weather with mostly sunny skies in the afternoon. Blowing snow above treeline.

Snowpack

Below treeline: HS 30 to 150cm, snow surfaces are mostly melt freeze crusts except on steep north-facing slopes. The surface snow was wet in the afternoon below 8500'.  Ski penetration was minimal. At 8500' boot penetration was knee-deep in wet snow.

Near Treeline: HS 120 to 200cm. Soft settled snow on sheltered northerlies, wind-hardened snow on exposed terrain. Thin edgable melt freeze crusts on slopes with a solar tilt. Ski pen 5- 10cm.

It does look like this area saw an inch or two or two of recent snowfall. Because it was blown into sheltered areas and southerly slopes have been wind scoured there were no signs of wet snow instability.
