- <p>Below 8000 ft. I could find very little wind loading, but could see it at the higher elevations and can not comment about its stability. </p>
The new snow is sitting on a firm 5 inch knife density layer. I could not get any movement between the very distinct old snow and new. I can only comment on where I skied, but found very stable conditions, no cracking, collapsing.
This video was on a 30 deg. NE slope at 8000ft. Does not show the entire snowpack, only the interface of old and new snow. No faceting down deeper.

nice 12 inches of very turnable soft light density snow on top of the supportable crust from the recent warm up.
