A large avalanche completely covered the Provo Rock Canyon trail on Feb 7, 2024. This ocurred on a large, partially barren (smooth rock) north-facing slope just above the second bridge. The debris field from this slide extended down-canyon, completely covering the second bridge with a wall of snow over 20 feet high. Avalanches in Rock Canyon are uncommon.
