Widespread storm slab and dry loose point release cycle around Provo Canyon on steep East to North facing terrain above 7500'. Majority of avalanches occurred on the East shoulder of Timp from Slide Canyon to Primrose Cirque, where the bulk of storm snow fell, however the backside of Cascade had several crowns as well in Big Springs and Bunnell's.

Storm overproduced in Provo Canyon with Aspen Grove picking up 11.5"HST and .5"HSTW. Snow began with large stellers at 4% density then rose in density as the precip particals became irregular fine grain .3mm crystals. Winds from canyon floor to 8500' were moderate out of the NNE, however crest level winds at 11,000' were moderate out of the South. By 1600 on the 25th the new snow had only 5% settlement, and steep slopes and cut banks were easily triggered from bottom of slope by just stepping onto them, failing within the first few inches of the new snow. Wind loading and tree bombs likely triggered the majority of slopes, until the new snow settled enough to gain strength and bond.

Crown depths were very shallow (ranging from 3" - 10"), and debris was very light density and only running into the upper to mid tracks. Mostly D1-D2 in size.

As of 0700 on the 26th the storm snow has settled 22% and new snow appears to have bonded, and instibility has mostly settled out of the storm snow. Wind blown snow may still be somewhat active, and with complete opposite wind directions from crest to mid elevation slopes these might be tricky to navigate as you gain elevation.
