Avalanche Information

We picked our way down the edge of an avalanche path on wind hammered slopes with the intention of entering the slide path further down to avoid the start zone. On the descent there were small convex rolls as we approached the edge of tree line. My ski partner intentionally cut one of the rolls and triggered a small pocket which sympathetically triggered the main slide path above us. The main path was cross loaded from strong winds that created a soft slab. It looks like the avalanche ran on a previous wind hammered bed surface. It ran almost to the creek where the normal skin track is. It was a close call with no skier involvement. We skied through the soft debris to exit.
