Spent March 14/15 in the Steep Creek area. Skis on from the road, easy and fast access. Lots of groups on Saturday skied Darkside peak runs (NW to NE) and reported no instabilities. We skied North/North West aspects in the alpine, without any signs of naturals, or wind slab anywhere we travelled. Overall great cold powder on NE-N-NW aspects. Steep south aspects got hit by the sun on Saturday and formed a crust. Hand pits on the North bowl at 2000 m had 30 cm of soft uncohesive powder on a crust, giving resistant planer results. Some small features appeared cross loaded and slightly more reactive, so we stayed away from convexities. Chute 56 skied great, with good coverage most of the way down the gully. Sunday had light snow all day from 11AM and by the time we left it continued to snow down to the road.
