In sheltered areas in the Sisters, the snow is entirely faceted. In wind-affected areas, a discontinuous, 1-5-inch-thick wind-hardened layer sits over a faceted snowpack. Hs in the Sisters is variable, with areas scoured to the ground and others drifted to about 2 feet. Below treeline on east-facing slopes, I found an entirely faceted snowpack. On more southeast-facing slope,s there was a MFcr on the surface, with a faceted snowpack underneath.
