Laps in the chutes between Log Cabin and Halcyon on Thursday. Wind was the word of the day with fresh wind slabs of various forms (soft, hard, breakable) above ~1050 m. Winds were steady from the south throughout the day. We didn’t bother climbing any higher than ~1200 m due to less than ideal conditions. Below 1050 m there was ~ 30 cm of fresh, unsettled snow which made for fun turns down to the highway. Not quite spring time in the pass yet, but the sun is starting to pack some punch: the snow at lower elevations was noticeably heavier on the second lap, thanks to solar effect.
