Morfee

Trapper Gilowski, Saturday 8th February, 2025 10:38PM

Today in the Morfee riding area we had nice bluebird day which made for some excellent visibility to travel far on the wind packed ridges. The day was pretty mild -12 up top the wind had some bite in the morning with moderate to strong winds coming in from the NE, later in the afternoon the wind died off. We dug our pit on a East facing aspect with a 28 degree incline at 1600m. In our pit we had a few layers of concern first being a wind slab 10cm thick. Lower down we had a facet interface reacting in the moderate range (CTM 13-15 Resistant Planer) down 25cm. Deeper into the snowpack we had another facet interface reacting in the hard range at (CTH 21-25 RP). No avalanche activity to report. Enjoy the warmer weather and play safe!
