Highwood - Pocaterra Ridge

Here are some photos from today at Highwood area - Pocaterra cirque and pocaterra ridge. We were on snowshoes today so I can't speak to the ski quality, but it looked like some others were having fun in what felt like decent powder snow in sheltered and lee areas from about 2350 - 2550 m. As we got higher up on the ridge it was a mix of thin wind slab and very unsupportive snow (boot pen of 5-35cm right down to rock every time ). Not too much wind where we were in the lee of Mt.Tyrwhitt's NE ridge but there was noticeable transport and high winds at the top of Tyrwhitt's ridge along with the requisite cornices. Saw some debris from one small avalanche (see photo) off the N facing slopes between Grizzly and Highwood ridges. No idea how old it is, but looked to be the past day or two. Unless there is some new snow, it didn't look like there were many clean lines (that actually have snow) left to ski.
